My life According to Pearl Jam

Stole this from one of those crazy e-mails that ‘you need to send to 20 people in 20 minutes of you will have bad luck for 20 years’… I thought it was pretty cool to think about…

Taking Back Sunday, All American Rejects, and Anberlin 11/18/09

First off, great show! Except for the part where what seemed like half the place was still waiting to get in when Anberlin finished their set… @ 7:00pm! There was quite a large number of fans really upset with the 25 minute performance.  I guess people felt they needed to voice their displeasure to a guy wearing a kick ass grey Anberlin t-shirt, and I wasn’t alone. › Continue reading

Some Songs you need to hear!!!

White Rabbits “Percussion Gun” Music Video from White Rabbits on Vimeo.

Well how do you do?
A kiss on the cheek
It’s been a while
So I’ll just beg, borrow
And steal all your time
We’ll call it dignified
Well now it all seems to be cut and dried
So I know which way to run
You’re tired my love
I feel the same

Well take it from me
What else could you do?
Ah where do you get off
And how can I get there, too?
All your time we’ll call it dignified
Well now it all seems to be cut and dried
So I know which way to run
You’re tired my love
I feel the same, ah

You’ll never come back
My god cant you see that
I know which way to run
You’re tired my love
I feel the same
The ladder rung won’t speak my name

Well everyone’s seen you rise and shine
It might not be true but this is fine
Cause I know which way to run
You’re tired my love
I feel the same
The ladder rung won’t speak my name
Now even as we jump this ship
Ah just give me some peace of mind
Cause I…

The Fray and Jack’s Mannequin Concert 6/14/09

I finally got a chance to reflect on the show I saw this past Sunday, The Fray and Jack’s Mannequin at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Virginia Beach.

img_2744_2_2What an amazing show! The piano rock band from Los Angeles, California, Jack’s Mannequin was awesome again. (I have seen them twice now, and if you haven’t heard of them you should check them out! http://jacksmanniquin.com) They played for about an hour and a half. just enough time to preform the majority of their studio tracks from “Everything In Transit” and “The Glass Passenger.” The biggest ovations came from the beginnings of “The Resolution” and “The Mixed Tape,” it was great to hear them again after almost three years.

The Fray were just as good, if not better. The light/video show that they put on was one of a kind, for me at least… They had cameras set up in different angles on just one member of the band, then projected all four videos of each member on the top screen above the stage in black and white. The best shots were of the band from behind watching the members perform and seeing the crowds reaction… Over all the lights were top notch!

The FrayAll their songs sounded great they could easily have released the Va Beach show as a live album!!!
BUT, the highlight for me was the first song on the encore, Isaac Slade of The Fray was joined by Andrew McMahon front man from Jack’s Mannequin to perform Kanye West’s song “Heartless” with acoustic guitars and electric drums (I need to own a set of these, they sounded amazing!). The Fray did a great job! I cannot wait till their next album and the following concert. I found some clips of the show for ya… enjoy!
